Key Responsibilities
* Spearhead the development and implementation of a research program focused on aquaculture fish health and biosecurity in Bangladesh, driving evidence-based policy and practice.
* Lead the design, execution, and reporting of studies on farm and policy practices at the intersection of rural livelihoods, fish health, disease control, and biosecurity.
* Drive the achievement of research deliverables for the BIOSSCI project in Bangladesh, ensuring timely and high-quality outputs.
* Collaborate with international colleagues in the UK and South Africa to support comparative analyses and co-learning across country contexts, fostering a culture of global knowledge sharing.
* Disseminate research findings through various media channels, publishing social scientific and outreach articles that showcase the project's impact and relevance.
* Architect and maintain productive partnerships with key international and national research institutes, universities, and stakeholders to advance social science and biosecurity work in Bangladesh.
* Build and nurture relationships with investors and development partners from public and private sectors, scaling out research results and driving meaningful change.
* Mentor and guide research support assistants assigned to the BIOSSCI project, providing expertise and support to ensure their success.
* Foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork, developing productive working relationships with staff members at all levels and external partners.
* Manage and report on project progress, engaging in regular dialogue with senior and junior staff/employees and external stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability.
* Develop and execute a strategic plan for project delivery, ensuring alignment with the organization's vision and goals, and driving progress towards a more sustainable and equitable future.

Additional Requirements
- At least two years of research experience in social research
- Expertise in social surveys and qualitative methods
- Excellent proficiency of spoken and written English
- Proven record of publications

- Ability to work within interdisciplinary research teams
- Proven competency with social science research design and analysis
- Proven competence with conducting social surveys
- Proven competency with ethnographic methods
- Strong writing skills
- Experience with aquaculture, science and development
