Key Responsibilities
* Lead the preparation and dispensing of prescription medications, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in serving patients and medical practitioners.
* Drive the timely distribution of drugs and medication to inpatients, guaranteeing seamless access to essential pharmaceuticals.
* Counsel patients and medical practitioners on pharmaceutical usage, providing expert guidance on indications, contraindications, dosage, interactions, and side effects.
* Architect the acquisition and disbursement of pharmaceuticals across various offices, clinics, and sites, ensuring strategic allocation of resources.
* Manage the performance of pharmacy staff, offering guidance, training, and support to optimize their skills and knowledge.
* Oversee the secure dispensing of narcotic drugs, adhering to prescription requirements and regulatory standards.
* Develop and maintain robust storage and record-keeping systems, prioritizing the safekeeping of pharmaceuticals and compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Implement departmental policies, procedures, and quality improvement objectives, ensuring alignment with safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
* Collaborate with the head of Pharmacy to create a monthly action plan for the IP Pharmacy, driving strategic growth and development.
* Represent the Cardiac Arrest Team, maintaining the Crash Cart and Blue Bag stock, and ensuring readiness in emergency situations.
* Monitor and report Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs), contributing to continuous quality improvement and patient safety.
* Conduct regular checks on floor stock, verifying the availability of essential medications and ensuring timely replenishment.
* Implement quality control measures, including cross-checking delivered medications and documenting receipt times to prevent dispensing errors.
* Perform regular patient box checks to ensure timely and accurate medication administration, identifying and addressing potential errors.
