Key Responsibilities

* Spearhead the formation and capacity building of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and cooperatives, driving savings accumulation and lending, and empowering members with leadership skills, financial management, and business acumen. * Architect and implement vegetable and flower production plans, ensuring quality inputs, solar irrigation, and market-driven approaches to enhance productivity and profitability. * Foster a robust market system and value chain development, establishing linkages with national and international markets to expand business opportunities for smallholder farmers in Jashore and Jhenaidah districts. * Develop and execute market development strategies, facilitating access to affordable inputs, technical services, product aggregation, and marketing support for farmers to achieve a sustainable living income. * Lead the establishment of collection points for vegetable and flower marketing, and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure efficient logistics and distribution channels. * Design and deliver comprehensive training programs for farmers, including Farmers Field School (FFS), demonstration, and Farmer Field Day (FFD), to enhance their skills and knowledge in climate-resilient agriculture practices. * Collaborate with the Project Coordinator to ensure successful project implementation, receiving feedback and guidance to inform strategic decision-making. * Drive the installation and management of solar pumps for irrigation, ensuring reliable and sustainable water supply for vegetable and flower production. * Facilitate good governance of SHGs and cooperatives, promoting transparency, accountability, and inclusivity in decision-making processes. * Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, development partners, and private sector entities, to leverage resources and expertise in support of project objectives.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Agriculture
  • Bachelor of Social Science (BSS)
  • Diploma in Agriculture

Additional Requirements

  • 2 years work experience in agriculture production, market development and financial inclusion
  • Experience in vegetable, flower agriculture value chain development project
  • Experience with private sectors
  • Understanding of enterprise development, agri-market systems and farm economy
  • Experience in profit analysis and business planning
  • Understanding of rural markets, trading relationships and rural service providers
  • Ability to ride a motorcycle
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to adapt to different cultures
