Key Responsibilities

* Drive financial planning and management, ensuring responsible and effective use of organizational resources. * Architect and maintain accurate financial systems, including records, ledgers, and accounts, to facilitate informed decision-making. * Analyze and present financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to project managers and senior management. * Lead budgeting and forecasting efforts, collaborating with project teams to develop financial forecasts and track performance against project goals and objectives. * Manage cash flow and fund disbursements, identifying and mitigating financial risks to avoid overspending or underutilization. * Develop and implement strategies to ensure compliance with financial regulations, donor requirements, and internal controls. * Facilitate stakeholder engagement, providing financial updates and collaborating with program staff to align financial and programmatic objectives. * Foster a culture of financial literacy, providing guidance and training to project teams on financial procedures and policies. * Oversee cash operations and bank management, ensuring timely payments, reconciliations, and compliance with internal control procedures. * Manage payroll and tax processes, reviewing national staff payroll for accuracy and compliance, and ensuring adherence to financial controls and regulations. * Identify and address potential financial risks, implementing corrective actions to ensure the financial integrity of the organization. * Collaborate with audit teams, preparing financial documentation and assisting in audit processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. * Drive process improvements, streamlining financial systems and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Education

  • Bachelor/Honors
  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • Master`s degree

Additional Requirements

  • Proven experience 5 years as a Finance Officer or similar role
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and reporting
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Knowledge of donor financial regulations and compliance standards
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
