Key Responsibilities

* Spearhead merchandising operations, driving projects from initial inquiry to final shipment and ensuring seamless execution. * Foster strong relationships with buyers through proactive communication, addressing product development, pricing, and shipment updates. * Architect product development timelines, overseeing sampling, costing, and bulk production to meet buyer requirements. * Negotiate and secure favorable terms with buyers and suppliers, including pricing, delivery schedules, and order details. * Develop and maintain accurate costing sheets, consumption sheets, and price quotations to inform business decisions. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including factories, production teams, suppliers, and quality departments, to ensure efficient order fulfillment. * Drive production planning and monitoring, ensuring on-time shipment and meeting buyer deadlines. * Source high-quality materials, including fabrics, trims, and accessories, that meet buyer specifications and standards. * Manage the approval process for lab dips, fit samples, PP samples, size sets, and shipment samples, ensuring timely and accurate feedback. * Champion product quality and compliance, conducting regular checks to ensure adherence to requirements throughout production. * Provide transparent and regular updates to buyers on production status, addressing potential issues and concerns promptly. * Analyze key performance indicators, including order profitability, production risks, and delivery performance, to inform strategic decisions. * Partner with commercial and logistics teams to facilitate shipping documentation and export procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations. * Maintain meticulous records, including merchandising documents, reports, and order records, to support business operations. * Resolve production, quality, or shipment-related issues efficiently and professionally, minimizing delays and disruptions. * Mentor and guide junior merchandisers, providing support and expertise to enhance their skills and performance. * Conduct market research and analysis, staying up-to-date on fabric trends, pricing, and competitor activity to drive business growth. * Ensure adherence to company policies, buyer requirements, and ethical sourcing standards, promoting a culture of compliance and responsibility. * Represent the organization in buyer meetings, factory visits, and production review meetings, fostering strong relationships and driving business outcomes.

Education

  • Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Design, Apparel Merchandising, Business Administration, or a related field.

Additional Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of merchandising processes from product development to shipment.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills in both Bangla and English.
  • Ability to independently handle buyers and manage multiple orders simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrics, trims, accessories, washing, printing, embroidery, and garment production processes.
  • Experience in costing, consumption, order planning, and price negotiation.
  • Good understanding of production planning, quality assurance, and shipment procedures.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards, buyer requirements, and export documentation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making ability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight production and shipment deadlines.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and coordination skills.
  • Candidates having experience with international buyers/brands will get preference.
  • Knowledge of ERP software and merchandising tools will be considered an advantage.
  • Must be smart, proactive, target-oriented, and capable of handling factory coordination efficiently.
  • Ability to travel for factory visits and buyer meetings if required.
  • Strong follow-up capability and attention to detail.
  • Professional certification/training in Merchandising or Textile-related fields will be an added advantage.
