Key Responsibilities

* Architect the design, development, and quality assurance of innovative, play-based learning materials and caregiver engagement resources that drive inclusive and holistic child development. * Drive the creation of age-appropriate materials for children aged 0-8 years, ensuring alignment with programme frameworks, global ECD standards, and cultural relevance. * Lead and supervise the Senior Project Officer – Material Developer, providing technical guidance and expertise to ensure high-quality material development. * Develop and contextualize a range of materials, including storybooks, activity cards, and games, to reflect local culture, language, and practices, and promote holistic child development. * Integrate considerations for inclusion, child protection, and psychosocial wellbeing into all materials, ensuring they are safe, durable, and suitable for humanitarian contexts. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including ECD, MERL, Capacity Building, and QA, to ensure materials support programme objectives and drive programme success. * Manage the review, validation, and refinement of materials, incorporating feedback from field testing and technical reviews to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with programme standards. * Oversee the development of facilitator guides, manuals, and session plans, and support the training and orientation of facilitators and staff on effective material use. * Promote the development of low-cost, locally sourced play materials, and maintain documentation, version control, and archiving of all materials. * Champion safeguarding practices, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of programme participants, team members, and communities, and providing guidance and expertise on safeguarding policy and standards. * Foster a culture of safeguarding, promoting and endorsing safeguarding policies and procedures, and encouraging reporting of any incidents or concerns.
