Key Responsibilities
* Spearhead the design and development of handicraft products, leveraging Rohingya artisans' traditional skills to create innovative, market-driven, and culturally relevant items that drive commercial success.
* Drive product innovation by integrating Rohingya cultural artistry with contemporary market trends, conducting research on seasonal trends, production innovations, and market demand to inform design decisions.
* Architect and prototype new designs in collaboration with the production team, ensuring cost-effectiveness, feasibility, and alignment with production capacity and sales objectives.
* Develop and maintain design archives, version control of samples, and product development documentation to ensure seamless knowledge sharing and continuity.
* Deliver hands-on design guidance and training to Bangladeshi trainers and Rohingya artisans, empowering them to enhance their design and production skills and strengthen their market competitiveness.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, business development, and marketing, to ensure design alignment with production capacity, sales objectives, and market trends.
* Foster strategic partnerships with suppliers and vendors to source materials, techniques, and design feedback, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
* Champion safeguarding practices, ensuring a safe working environment for programme participants, team members, and stakeholders, and promoting a culture of respect, integrity, and accountability.
* Embed safeguarding standards into every aspect of programme design and implementation, providing guidance, support, and expertise to establish a robust safeguarding framework.
* Lead by example, promoting and endorsing safeguarding policies, reporting procedures, and best practices to prevent harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation, including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA).
Requirements
Experience
At least 5 years
Skills
Proficiency in design software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop)Strong visual design, prototyping, and quality assurance skillsEffective communication, teamwork, and documentation
Education
- Bachelor/Honors Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Fashion designing
