Key Responsibilities
* Spearhead the Corporate Banking Unit within the Islamic Banking Division, driving business expansion and sustainable growth through strategic leadership and vision.
* Foster strong relationships with key corporate clients and senior stakeholders, identifying opportunities to drive business growth and expand the corporate financing portfolio.
* Architect and implement effective cross-selling strategies to promote Islamic funded and non-funded products, ensuring high service standards and client satisfaction.
* Drive business development by acquiring and managing high-quality corporate clients, leveraging Shariah-compliant structures to meet their financing needs.
* Oversee the review and endorsement of corporate credit proposals, structuring financing facilities that align with approved purposes and assets, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and Shariah requirements.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Credit Risk Management, Compliance, and Shariah Secretariat, to secure approvals and drive business growth.
* Present complex credit proposals to senior management and approval committees, providing expert insights and recommendations to inform decision-making.
* Monitor and manage portfolio performance, identifying trends, early warning signals, and areas for improvement, and implementing remedial actions to maintain portfolio quality within approved risk appetite.
* Ensure timely recovery, profit realization, and regularization of facilities, overseeing classified, overdue, and stressed accounts, and recommending corrective actions to mitigate risk.
* Champion a culture of compliance, ensuring adherence to Shariah principles, regulatory requirements, and internal policies, and overseeing the proper execution of Shariah contracts and security documentation.
* Supervise Islamic trade and non-funded facilities, including LC, Kafalah (Bank Guarantee), and Shipping Guarantee, ensuring proper margins, securities, and risk mitigation for contingent liabilities.
* Provide support for internal audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews, ensuring that all activities are conducted in accordance with regulatory and Shariah requirements.
Requirements
Experience
At least 8 years
Education
- Bachelor/Honors
Additional Requirements
- Experience in Corporate or Commercial Banking, preferably with exposure to Islamic Banking
- Strong understanding of Islamic banking principles and Shariah-compliant financing structures
- Advanced corporate credit analysis and risk management capability
- Sound understanding of Bangladesh Bank regulations and Islamic banking guidelines
- Strong leadership, team management, and decision-making ability
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills
- Ability to manage corporate client relationships and drive business growth in a competitive banking environment
