Key Responsibilities

* Spearhead the enhancement of the Management Information System (MIS) unit's capacity in emergency data management, validation, and standard operating procedures to ensure timely and accurate data entry, quality assurance, and decision-making. * Drive the development and implementation of effective data management systems, focusing on emergency surveillance and laboratory-related data to inform coordination and decision-making during disease outbreaks. * Collaborate with the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) to identify and address challenges in data entry, accuracy, and quality assurance, ensuring reliable and real-time data to support disease surveillance and response. * Architect and implement standardized operating procedures for data management, validation, and quality assurance, aligning with International Health Regulations (IHR) and global health security standards. * Lead the design and delivery of training and capacity-building programs for MIS unit staff, enhancing their skills in emergency data management, data analysis, and reporting to support informed decision-making. * Manage the development and implementation of data quality assurance mechanisms, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data to support disease surveillance, outbreak response, and health security. * Foster partnerships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, civil society, and private sector organizations, to leverage expertise, resources, and technologies in support of strengthened disease detection and surveillance systems. * Develop and maintain effective relationships with national and international partners, ensuring alignment with global health security initiatives and compliance with International Health Regulations (IHR). * Drive the integration of data management systems with existing health information systems, ensuring seamless data exchange, analysis, and reporting to support disease surveillance and response efforts.

Requirements

Education

  • Advanced degree in related field

Additional Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience supporting health information systems, surveillance data, or MIS functions
  • Proven expertise in data quality assurance, emergency data management, and SOP development
  • Familiarity with DGHS systems (e.g., DHIS2, surveillance reporting) strongly preferred
  • Strong facilitation, mentoring, and documentation skills
