Key Responsibilities
* Drive day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities, to ensure seamless project execution.
* Architect project budgets in collaboration with cluster and programme specialists, aligning with logical frames and project proposals to meet cluster needs.
* Manage timely disbursements of funds, ensuring payments to vendors are made within reasonable timeframes and contract periods.
* Oversee accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, adhering to organizational policies and accounting standards through accounting software.
* Lead the preparation and adjustment of journal entries, and conduct monthly bank reconciliation statements to ensure financial accuracy.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and monitor budgets, preparing and consolidating project budgets as required.
* Analyze expenditure progress, preparing regular reports for donors and internal stakeholders to inform decision-making.
* Develop and submit comprehensive financial reports, including balance sheets, income and expenditure statements, and receipts and payments statements.
* Ensure compliance with donor requirements and reporting guidelines for funded projects, submitting periodic financial reports to stakeholders.
* Manage grant-related financial activities, including budget reviews, preparation of financial reports, and liaison with donors and regulatory bodies.
* Support audit preparations, ensuring all necessary documentation is readily available, and maintain compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulations.
* Drive capacity building initiatives, providing training and support to staff on financial policies and procedures, and contributing to the development of financial literacy programs.
* Oversee the management of accounting software, ensuring timely and accurate posting of vouchers to maintain financial integrity.
