Key Responsibilities

* Drive the implementation of Civilian Self Protection (CSP) activities, leading conflict and risk assessments, and capacity-building workshops to empower community groups and raise awareness on protection issues. * Architect and implement community-based protection strategies, working closely with at-risk individuals and communities to identify protection risks, provide tailored support, and strengthen community resilience. * Lead the development and maintenance of case management processes, including service mapping, protocols, referral pathways, and databases to ensure effective support for affected populations. * Manage Individual Protection Assistance, identifying, assessing, and supporting cases, and conducting safety mapping and participatory risk assessments to inform community self-protection strategies. * Conduct regular field visits to monitor the protection situation, identify trends, and report protection incidents, maintaining effective working relationships with stakeholders, including partner agencies, community leaders, and service providers. * Utilize data collection tools and methodologies to gather information on protection risks and concerns, supporting the maintenance of incidents and other databases as necessary. * Analyze changes and trends in the protection environment, contributing to needs assessments, focus group discussions, and key informant interviews to inform program design and response planning. * Champion the collection of baseline data and indicators to measure program impact, promoting a culture of accountability, inclusivity, and innovation in all aspects of protection work. * Foster strong partnerships with local and national partners, community groups, and volunteers to leverage resources, expertise, and support for community-based protection initiatives. * Embed NRC's core values of dedication, innovation, inclusivity, and accountability into all protection activities, upholding the highest standards of safety, dignity, and respect for affected populations.

Requirements

Experience

At least 3 years

Skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Bangla and English

Education

  • Bachelor of Social Science (BSS)
  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Peace and Conflict studies

Additional Requirements

  • Experience implementing community-based protection programs
  • Experience with Civilians Self-Protection activities
  • Experience working in a humanitarian/recovery context
  • Technical expertise in protection programming
  • Training in protection risk reduction
  • Experience with information data management
  • Knowledge of data protection standards
  • Experience in training and capacity-building
  • Interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Level of knowledge and practice with Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Understanding rights and protection issues of Rohingya Refugees
  • Community engagement processes and consultations
  • Organizational and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Chittagonian language
