Senior Program Officer, Quality Reading Materials (QRM)

* Drive the development of high-quality reading materials by sourcing story manuscripts from local emerging writers and organizing workshops for story writing and illustrations. * Design and layout storybooks, pupil books, and other educational materials, ensuring alignment with Room to Read's standards and guidelines. * Collaborate with authors, illustrators, publishers, and printers to produce engaging and effective reading materials for primary grade students. * Lead the editing and correction process for stories and artworks, ensuring adherence to guidance from the Senior Program Manager and Global Office. * Manage the filing and archiving of all Quality Reading Materials (QRM) works, maintaining a comprehensive and organized repository of educational resources. * Contribute to the ideal book collection work, reviewing stories and artworks to ensure they meet Room to Read's quality and relevance standards. * Foster relationships with local writers, illustrators, and publishers to stay informed about the local publishing industry and children's publications. * Provide technical support for QRM publishing initiatives, leveraging expertise in educational materials and country-context to inform decision-making. * Travel to various locations to interact with authors, illustrators, publishers, and officials, promoting Room to Read's mission and objectives. * Report directly to the Senior Program Manager, Quality Reading Materials, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration to achieve program goals.
