Key Responsibilities
* Drive the development and implementation of professional development initiatives for members and practicing firms, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
* Architect strategic plans for technical standards, research, professional learning, and practice development, aligning with ICAB's mission and vision.
* Champion the adoption of international accounting and auditing standards, promoting awareness and implementation of IFRS, IAS, and ISA among members and stakeholders.
* Manage Professional Learning & Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programs, enhancing members' professional competence and knowledge to meet evolving industry demands.
* Develop and disseminate technical guidance, research publications, and professional resources to support members and advance the profession.
* Empower practicing members and firms to improve practice management, professional quality, and service delivery standards, driving business growth and excellence.
* Foster global collaborations with professional bodies, including IFAC, SAFA, CAPA, IFRS Foundation, and other international institutions, to leverage knowledge, best practices, and expertise.
* Build and maintain strategic relationships with regulatory authorities, government agencies, and key stakeholders, influencing policy and practice development to benefit the profession and public interest.
* Support the CEO and Council in shaping and implementing initiatives that strengthen the profession, enhance ICAB's public interest role, and promote the organization's mission and values.
Requirements
Experience
10 to 15 years
Skills
Sound knowledge of updated international standards of Accounting and Auditing (IFRS/IAS/ISA)Strong understanding of Sustainability Reporting Standards including IFRS S1 and IFRS S2In-depth knowledge of the Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants (IESBA Code) and ethical requirements applicable to professional practiceStrong understanding of practice management, audit quality frameworks, and regulatory environment in BangladeshLeadership and professional credibility within the accounting professionStrong technical knowledge of accounting and auditing standardsOrganizational development and operational governanceExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skillsAbility to lead transformation and enhance institutional efficiency
Education
- Bachelor/Honors
- Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh
- MBA from IBA, University of Dhaka, or other leading institution
Additional Requirements
- Minimum 10–15 years of professional experience after qualifying as a Chartered Accountant
- Significant experience in professional practice, audit, advisory, or professional leadership roles within accounting firms, professional institutions, or regulatory bodies
