Key Responsibilities

* Drive the delivery of community-based child protection activities, ensuring safe and inclusive access to services for crisis-affected children and adolescents in Cox's Bazar. * Architect and implement structured and non-structured psychosocial support sessions, life skills training, and positive parenting programs to promote emotional well-being and resilience. * Lead the coordination of child protection initiatives across multiple stakeholders, including community leaders, volunteers, caregivers, and youth groups, to foster a culture of safeguarding and child rights. * Facilitate community engagement and protection awareness activities, including child-led safety mapping, needs assessments, and group consultations, to empower communities to take ownership of child protection. * Manage the identification and support of vulnerable children, including those with disabilities, and ensure internal and external referrals to specialized services as needed. * Develop and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, and community-based organizations to ensure coordinated service provision and leverage resources. * Champion the meaningful participation of children and communities in program design, implementation, and evaluation, ensuring that their voices and concerns are heard and addressed. * Drive data-driven decision-making by collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data on psychosocial support and child protection activities, and using insights to adapt and improve programs. * Ensure compliance with ActionAid's safeguarding and data protection policies, maintaining accurate and secure records of program activities, attendance, and referrals. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Programme and Case Management Officers, to ensure holistic support to children and families and address emerging needs and challenges.

Skills

Strong communication and facilitation skillsGood skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Education

  • Bachelor of Social Science (BSS) in Psychology, Social Work, Anthropology
  • Bachelor of Law (LLB)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Psychology, Social Work, Anthropology, Gender Studies, Law, or any relevant discipline.

Additional Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in child protection, psychosocial support, community engagement, or humanitarian programming.
  • Experience working in the Rohingya response or emergency settings is preferred.
  • Worked with SAFE, Girl Shine, and life skills CPSS approaches.
  • Knowledge of the Rohingya response and humanitarian principles.
  • Ability to speak Chittagonian / Rohingya dialect is highly preferred.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills.
  • Good skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to prepare activity plans, simple reports, and concept notes.
  • Basic understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and activity tracking.
  • Strong team spirit, respect for diversity, and commitment to child safeguarding.
