Key Responsibilities
* Drive the delivery of high-quality mathematics lessons, aligning with curriculum standards and school expectations to foster a deep understanding of mathematical concepts among junior school students.
* Design and implement engaging, student-centred learning experiences, leveraging a range of instructional strategies to cater to diverse learning needs and abilities.
* Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative learning environment that encourages independent thinking, creativity, and academic confidence among students.
* Develop and implement effective differentiation strategies to support mixed-ability learners and promote academic excellence.
* Assess student learning through a variety of methods, including classwork, homework, quizzes, tests, and projects, providing timely, constructive, and actionable feedback to inform instruction and improve student outcomes.
* Monitor student progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness, and developing targeted interventions to support students who require additional academic support.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, assessment, achievement, behaviour, and progress, using data to inform instruction and drive student growth.
* Craft informative report comments, progress summaries, and academic documentation to keep parents and guardians informed of student progress and achievement.
* Establish and maintain effective classroom discipline and positive learning routines, promoting a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment that fosters social, emotional, and personal growth.
* Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on student progress, behaviour, and well-being, and engaging in parent-teacher conferences and student review meetings to ensure collaborative support for student success.
* Contribute to the development and refinement of curriculum materials, including schemes of work, resources, and assessments, to ensure alignment with school standards and expectations.
* Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching quality, share best practices, and drive student outcomes, supporting school activities, events, and programmes that promote academic excellence and personal growth.
* Mentor and support Assistant Teachers in their daily practice, providing guidance and feedback to ensure consistency and quality in instructional delivery.
* Uphold and promote school policies and procedures, including those related to safeguarding, child protection, confidentiality, health and safety, discipline, and professional ethics, maintaining a commitment to academic excellence and student well-being.
