Key Responsibilities

* Spearhead project delivery within scheduled timelines, meeting targets and project requirements, while ensuring seamless coordination with cross-functional departments. * Architect technical proposals and method statements, driving project progress through effective meeting management and supervision. * Lead the planning, design, and implementation of construction projects, ensuring regulatory compliance, adherence to safety and safeguarding standards, and high-quality infrastructure delivery within budget and timelines. * Drive need assessments through thorough site evaluations and surveys, identifying potential challenges and proposing mitigation measures to ensure informed construction planning and design. * Collaborate with stakeholders to develop construction plans, select vendors, and ensure alignment with government regulations, project specifications, organizational policies, and donor compliance. * Develop and maintain detailed technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications for construction projects, ensuring accurate documentation of construction plans, materials, and progress. * Manage budgets and cost estimates, monitoring and controlling construction costs to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints and delivering value for money. * Implement and oversee quality control processes, conducting regular inspections and tests to verify the quality of materials and workmanship, and ensuring construction meets required standards and specifications. * Direct construction teams, contractors, and subcontractors, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient delivery, and addressing any delays or obstacles that may impact the project timeline. * Develop and maintain construction schedules, identifying and mitigating risks, and ensuring timelines are met. * Prepare regular progress reports, providing updates on milestones, challenges, and solutions, and collaborating with project coordinators to meet donor reporting requirements. * Champion safety and safeguarding protocols, enforcing compliance with relevant construction safety regulations, conducting regular safety briefings and inspections, and promoting a culture of risk minimization. * Advocate for the integration and upholding of Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS) among teams and stakeholders, raising awareness about the importance of policy compliance, and safeguarding in the context of the Rohingya response. * Drive Policy Compliance and Safeguarding, including Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), ensuring a safe and respectful work environment, and promoting a culture of accountability and transparency.

Requirements

Experience

At least 3 years

Skills

Fluency in relevant languages (e.g., Rohingya, English)Knowledge of the local context in the Rohingya communitySensitivity to cultural and diversity issues

Education

  • Bachelor/Postgraduate degree in Civil Engineering
