General Manager - Legal & Land Affairs (Head of the Department)

* Drive land acquisition strategies, leading negotiations and closures across 6 major districts in Bangladesh * Architect and implement robust land management systems, ensuring due diligence, title verification, and compliance with regulatory requirements * Manage and resolve land-related disputes, encroachments, and claims, maintaining strong relationships with government agencies and local authorities * Develop and maintain a comprehensive land bank database and documentation system, ensuring seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams * Foster strategic partnerships with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and local stakeholders to advance business objectives * Provide expert legal counsel to senior management on corporate, commercial, and land-related matters, mitigating risks and ensuring compliance * Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements * Lead litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution processes, leveraging external legal counsel and regulatory expertise to drive successful outcomes * Monitor and analyze changes in laws and regulations, assessing impact on business operations and providing proactive guidance to senior management * Oversee and manage all litigation, including civil, criminal, and writ cases, ensuring effective coordination with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies * Drive continuous improvement in team capabilities, ensuring adherence to land laws, environmental regulations, and zoning rules * Develop and track key performance indicators, including land acquisition timelines, legal risk reduction, compliance adherence, litigation success rates, and cost optimization in legal processes
