Key Responsibilities

* Drive the development of epidemiological activity plans, budgets, and protocols in collaboration with medical teams to enhance early detection of risk factors and inform treatment approaches. * Lead the implementation of epidemiological methodologies, ensuring adherence to MSF standards and protocols to optimize research efficiency. * Oversee epidemiological research activities, fostering community engagement and ensuring informed participation, while monitoring progress and addressing delays to achieve epidemiological objectives. * Provide expert epidemiological guidance to MSF medical teams, designing and implementing tools and data collection strategies to address emerging needs. * Manage the shipment of laboratory samples, ensuring timely and secure transportation, and maintaining sample integrity in collaboration with logistics teams. * Architect data management systems, supervising data filing procedures, and ensuring the effective use and regular updates of epidemiology software tools to guarantee data traceability and availability. * Develop and implement strategic plans for epidemiological staff, including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and development, to enhance technical capabilities, contribution, and commitment to MSF values. * Collaborate with logistics teams to maintain research equipment, manage stock levels, and ensure continuity of research activities. * Contribute to operational reporting, including monthly reports and epidemiological analyses, to inform health facility and research area assessments. * Spearhead epidemiological surveillance and outbreak response efforts, ensuring timely and effective interventions. * Analyze and report on epidemiological data, upholding quality assurance standards to inform evidence-based decision-making. * Design and implement operational research initiatives, with a focus on Hepatitis C and other priority areas, to address key epidemiological questions. * Foster capacity strengthening and international collaboration to advance epidemiological research and practice.

  • Master's degree in Public Health with specialization in Epidemiology
  • Medical Doctor/ paramedical background
