Key Responsibilities
* Drive the development of clear standards, certification procedures, and quality assurance systems in the construction sector to promote sustainable practices.
* Lead advisory services for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and public institutions on market development and promotion of eco-friendly construction materials.
* Analyze existing incentive mechanisms to identify opportunities for promoting environmentally friendly building materials and advise on strategies for improvement.
* Architect new incentive mechanisms to support innovative business models for the production and distribution of eco-friendly building materials.
* Collaborate with government institutions, testing bodies, professional associations, and industry representatives to enhance the political framework and improve building materials quality.
* Manage the implementation of project goals and requirements, making decisions that drive short-term results within a limited project area.
* Identify day-to-day problems and develop solutions to ensure project success, advising supervisors and stakeholders as needed.
* Develop and implement market incentives to promote green construction practices, driving the adoption of sustainable materials and technologies.
* Provide expert guidance on project planning, steering, and monitoring, ensuring alignment with GIZ rules and regulations.
* Foster partnerships with key stakeholders to promote the sustainable transition of the construction sector in Bangladesh, contributing to climate-resilient urban development and responsible use of natural resources.

Understanding of the specific economic conditions in the construction sectorUnderstanding of approaches aiming at sustainable transition in the building sectorStrong organizational, planning and self-management competenciesAbility to deal with multiple tasks simultaneously, solve problems, meet deadlines and maintain a high quality of workAbility to work well under pressureExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsExcellent presentation skillsFluency in English and Bangla
Education
- Master's degree in Social Science, Economics or Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, Environmental Sciences
Additional
- 5 years of relevant occupational experience
- Working experience in a strategic and technical advisory role
- Working experience in the areas of development and promotion of innovative business models and incentive mechanisms
- Experience in maintaining strategic partnerships with different stakeholders and development partners
