Fashion Designer / Textile & Fabric Designer

* Drive the design process by selecting fabrics, embellishments, and accessories that meet buyer requirements and industry trends. * Lead the development of apparel products, leveraging knowledge of woven fabrics, trims, and accessories to create innovative designs. * Architect new ideas and concepts, constructing garments and patterns that showcase creative flair and technical expertise. * Foster relationships with global buyers, communicating design concepts and product requirements to drive business growth. * Stay ahead of the curve by monitoring emerging fashion trends, fabrics, colors, and shapes, and applying this knowledge to design decisions. * Create compelling visual presentations, including hand drawings, CAD illustrations, and graphic designs, to showcase products and designs to buyers. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sample teams, brand designers, and fabric mills, to bring designs to life and ensure seamless production. * Develop and maintain a deep understanding of customer needs, translating these into design requirements that meet buyer expectations. * Scout out new fabrics and inspiration at trade shows and manufacturer visits, staying up-to-date on the latest industry developments. * Design and develop seasonal collections, forecasting trends and creating trend-based designs that drive business success. * Utilize industry-leading software, including Adobe Illustrator and CLO, to create flat sketches, presentations, and cost sheets that inform design decisions. * Present designs and product concepts to buyers, negotiating requirements and ensuring that products meet customer needs and expectations. * Manage cost sheets and communicate with fabric mills R&D, product developers, and brand designers to ensure design concepts are viable and profitable.
