Senior Backend Engineer

* Architect and evolve the application backend to ingest radar telemetry from thousands of sensors, ensuring seamless routing of alerts and powering the family-facing dashboard. * Drive the design, development, and maintenance of scalable REST APIs using NestJS (Node.js/TypeScript) for sensor ingestion, partner integrations, and user dashboards. * Lead the optimization of MongoDB schema design, including indexing strategies, aggregation pipelines, and performance tuning for high-volume telemetry data. * Develop and harden the IoT ingestion pipeline to handle real-time radar telemetry and fall detection events, incorporating retry mechanisms, buffering, and back-pressure handling. * Manage integrations with external monitoring partners, including alert delivery, acknowledgements, and reconciliation workflows. * Collaborate with DevOps and platform teams to leverage AWS services and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring high availability and smooth deployments. * Implement and maintain observability tools, including structured logging, metrics, distributed tracing, and alerting. * Participate in on-call rotation, triaging incidents, resolving production issues, and writing clear postmortems. * Ensure the security and data privacy of the platform, including authentication/authorization, encryption, secrets management, and audit logging. * Execute zero-downtime deployments and database migrations using safe rollout strategies. * Develop clean, maintainable, and testable code with strong unit and integration test coverage. * Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams, including frontend, mobile, firmware, and product teams, to evolve device-to-cloud communication contracts. * Maintain comprehensive documentation, including architecture diagrams, ADRs, and runbooks, as the system scales.
