Key Responsibilities

* Spearhead community mobilization efforts, driving the formation and reactivation of community groups to foster collective action and participatory engagement. * Foster strong relationships with local government officials, elected representatives, NGOs, and other BRAC programmes to ensure seamless project implementation and collaboration. * Architect and facilitate community-led initiatives, providing guidance and support to community organizers to promote social accountability and inclusive urban development. * Lead the implementation of project interventions at the field level, leveraging community engagement and participation to drive meaningful change. * Develop and maintain robust communication networks with city corporations and local stakeholders, ensuring effective engagement and collaboration in social accountability initiatives. * Drive the capacity-building of climate-vulnerable communities, particularly women and intersectional groups, to access resilient infrastructure and ensure proper operation and maintenance. * Manage and coordinate project activities, providing regular updates and progress reports to stakeholders and programme management. * Collaborate with local stakeholders to identify and address climate-related hazards, such as flooding, heatwaves, and waterlogging, and develop strategies to reduce exposure and vulnerability. * Facilitate community-led initiatives to promote climate resilience, social accountability, and inclusive urban planning, ensuring that the needs and perspectives of vulnerable communities are represented and addressed.

Requirements

Education

  • Masters
  • Bachelor/Honors

Additional

  • Minimum 2 years working experience with NGOs or international development organizations
  • Field experience in working with municipalities and city corporations
  • Demonstrated ability to work in development projects
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Project implementation and capacity building competencies
  • Problem-solving mindset
