Key Responsibilities

* Spearhead the company's legal function, driving strategic decisions and ensuring seamless operations across all legal matters. * Architect and negotiate complex agreements, including land purchases, joint ventures, and contractor agreements, to protect the company's interests. * Drive compliance with regulatory requirements, laws, and industry standards, mitigating risks and ensuring adherence to best practices. * Foster strong relationships with external counsel, regulatory bodies, and government agencies to facilitate collaboration and resolve disputes. * Manage and resolve legal disputes, litigation, and arbitration cases, providing expert guidance and support to stakeholders. * Provide actionable legal insights and strategic advice to senior management, enabling informed decision-making. * Oversee land acquisition, due diligence, and sourcing processes, ensuring thorough verification of land ownership, title, and documentation. * Develop and maintain robust relationships with landowners, brokers, and local authorities, facilitating successful land transactions. * Supervise estate management activities, resolving land-related issues and ensuring seamless registration of properties. * Coordinate with sub-registry offices to ensure timely and efficient registration of deeds, sales, and other property-related documents. * Ensure strict compliance with stamp duty and registration fee requirements, maintaining accurate records of all registered documents. * Identify and mitigate legal and land-related risks, developing proactive strategies to protect the company's interests. * Conduct comprehensive legal due diligence for projects and investments, ensuring freedom from legal encumbrances. * Lead and manage a high-performing Legal, Estate, and Registration team, driving performance and timely task completion. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Engineering, Finance, and Admin, to ensure alignment and effective communication. * Build and maintain strong relationships with government offices, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders, facilitating approvals, clearances, and documentation. * Develop and implement effective reporting systems, providing regular updates on legal cases, land status, and registrations to senior management. * Design and maintain robust filing and documentation systems, ensuring easy access to critical information and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Education

  • Bachelor of Law (LLB)
