Key Responsibilities
* Drive the development, implementation, and maintenance of a robust Environmental Management System (EMS) that meets ISO 14001 standards and other relevant regulations.
* Ensure seamless compliance with local environmental laws, buyer requirements, and international regulations, mitigating potential risks and reputational damage.
* Architect and maintain a comprehensive framework for environmental permits, licenses, and regulatory documentation, guaranteeing timely renewals and updates.
* Spearhead internal and external EMS audits, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions to achieve optimal environmental performance.
* Design and maintain accurate EMS-related documentation, procedures, records, and reports, facilitating transparency and accountability.
* Conduct internal audits, risk assessments, and gap analyses to identify environmental compliance gaps and develop targeted improvement strategies.
* Oversee waste management systems, ensuring effective segregation, storage, disposal, and recycling practices that minimize environmental impact.
* Monitor and analyze resource consumption patterns, tracking water, electricity, fuel, and chemical usage to inform sustainability initiatives.
* Develop and implement environmental training programs, promoting awareness and best practices among employees and fostering a culture of sustainability.
* Create training materials and educational resources on waste reduction, chemical safety, and energy conservation, empowering employees to make a positive impact.
* Lead cross-functional teams in designing and implementing energy-saving, water-saving, and waste reduction projects that drive business value and environmental stewardship.
* Champion environmental improvement initiatives, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and developing data-driven improvement plans that inform strategic decision-making.
* Collaborate with external stakeholders, including government authorities, certification bodies, and buyers, to address environmental concerns and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Investigate environmental incidents, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence and minimize environmental harm.
* Develop and submit regular EMS performance reports, providing insights and recommendations to management and stakeholders on environmental performance and areas for improvement.
* Facilitate buyer audits and compliance assessments, ensuring seamless communication and issue resolution while maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Requirements
Education
- Master of Science (MSc) in Environmental Science
Additional
- Experience with compliance audits
- Strong reporting and documentation skills
- Must have experience in Environment role in garments industry
- Ability to work in a factory environment and handle compliance requirements efficiently
