Procurement Officer

* Drive procurement operations by converting purchase requisitions into purchase orders with precise technical specifications, ensuring seamless communication with maintenance, production, and civil engineers. * Architect import documentation processes, including LC opening, bill of lading, and customs clearance for imported spare parts, specialized dyes, and tufting equipment. * Lead quality control initiatives by coordinating with the quality team to inspect incoming spares, chemicals, and construction materials, ensuring dimensional accuracy, concentration, purity, strength, and grade meet company standards. * Manage rejection processes by initiating returns or replacements for non-conforming spares or expired/ineffective chemicals, minimizing waste and ensuring compliance. * Develop and maintain a robust vendor database, prioritizing reliable suppliers of local engineering shops, authorized chemical distributors, hardware, and construction material dealers. * Foster sustainable sourcing practices by identifying vendors offering recycled, biodegradable, or low-VOC materials, aligning with the company's eco-friendly brand image. * Negotiate contracts with spare parts and chemical suppliers, securing favorable pricing, credit terms, and delivery schedules while ensuring compliance with environmental norms. * Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, delivery time, after-sales support, and environmental compliance, driving continuous improvement. * Optimize inventory levels by conducting ABC analysis, classifying spare parts and chemicals to minimize stockouts and overstocking. * Implement consignment inventory for high-consumption spare parts, reducing working capital and streamlining procurement processes. * Develop and track monthly procurement budgets for factory maintenance and chemical consumption, analyzing variances and identifying areas for cost optimization. * Drive waste reduction initiatives by sourcing dyes and chemicals in returnable/reusable containers and procuring spare parts with minimal packaging. * Support raw material sourcing for rug production by identifying suppliers of recycled fabric rags, jute, cotton rags, wool, and backing fabrics, ensuring consistent quality and supply. * Collaborate with the procurement team to source latex glue, backing cloth, and non-slip coatings, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
