Key Responsibilities
* Drive patient care in the Outpatient Department (OPD) by conducting comprehensive vision tests, including visual acuity assessments and refraction, to deliver precise diagnoses and treatment plans.
* Architect personalized treatment plans by performing specialized diagnostic tests, such as biometry, keratometry, and applanation tonometry, to inform spectacle prescriptions and low-vision aid recommendations.
* Lead patient counseling sessions to educate individuals on the effective use of corrective lenses, contact lenses, and low-vision aids, ensuring empowered decision-making and optimal outcomes.
* Manage accurate and detailed patient records, leveraging electronic or manual systems to ensure seamless continuity of care and informed decision-making.
* Support pre-operative preparations in the Operation Theater (OT) by assisting with critical measurements, such as IOL power calculations, and patient preparation for cataract and other eye surgeries.
* Collaborate with ophthalmic surgeons during procedures, providing technical expertise and ensuring the availability of essential diagnostic data to drive successful surgical outcomes.
* Oversee the sterilization and maintenance of refraction-related equipment in the OT environment, adhering to hospital protocols to guarantee patient safety and prevent infection.
* Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot ophthalmic equipment, including Autorefractors, Slit Lamps, Lensometers, and Phoropters, to ensure optimal functionality and minimal downtime.
* Proactively report technical malfunctions to administration, facilitating prompt resolution and minimizing disruption to patient services.
