Key Responsibilities
* Drive Environmental Management System (EMS) implementation, ensuring ISO 14001 compliance and adherence to local laws, buyer requirements, and international regulations.
* Architect and maintain a robust compliance framework, including environmental permits, licenses, and regulatory documentation.
* Lead internal and external EMS audits, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions to ensure continuous compliance.
* Develop and manage comprehensive EMS documentation, procedures, and records, including environmental performance reports and legal registers.
* Conduct risk assessments, gap analyses, and internal audits to identify environmental compliance risks and opportunities for improvement.
* Oversee the operation and performance of wastewater treatment plants, air emission, noise, water, and chemical management controls.
* Manage waste management systems, including segregation, storage, disposal, and recycling, to minimize environmental impact.
* Monitor and analyze resource consumption, including water, electricity, fuel, and chemicals, to identify areas for reduction and optimization.
* Design and deliver environmental awareness training programs, promoting a culture of sustainability and environmental responsibility among employees.
* Develop and implement energy-saving, water-saving, and waste reduction projects, driving environmental improvement initiatives and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs).
* Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including ETP, utility, engineering, production, and compliance, to ensure seamless environmental control and compliance.
* Investigate environmental incidents, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to prevent future occurrences.
* Prepare and submit compliance reports to management, buyers, and regulatory bodies, ensuring transparency and accountability.
* Liaise with government authorities, certification bodies, and buyers on environmental issues, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring regulatory compliance.
* Stay up-to-date with evolving environmental regulations, standards, and best practices, applying this knowledge to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Environmental Science
- Master of Science (MSc) in Environmental Science
Additional
- Only Male
- Experience with compliance audits
- Strong reporting and documentation skills
- Must have experience in Environment role in garments industry
- Practical experience in ETP operation, environmental compliance and sustainability practices
- Ability to work in a factory environment and handle compliance requirements efficiently
