Key Responsibilities
* Lead the review and vetting of land-related documents to safeguard the bank's interests and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Architect and draft various legal deeds, including mortgage deeds, indemnity bonds, and lease agreements, to facilitate secure property transactions.
* Drive the verification process of property documents through searches at relevant land offices, such as sub-registry offices and land record offices, to authenticate property ownership.
* Analyze and validate legal opinions and search reports provided by panel lawyers to ensure the genuineness of mortgaged properties.
* Issue clearance certificates upon completion of documentation formalities, paving the way for loan disbursements.
* Manage correspondence between branches and panel lawyers to ensure seamless documentation and legal validation of land and security documents.
* Facilitate the procurement of title search and RJSC search reports to inform lending decisions.
* Develop and maintain a robust management information system (MIS) to track documentation, legal issues, and reporting requirements for regulatory authorities and head office divisions.
* Conduct thorough searches to verify the authenticity of title deeds, mutation records, and government-related documents to support mortgage creation.
* Collaborate with management to undertake special projects and tasks as required, prioritizing the protection of the bank's interests and compliance with regulatory mandates.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor of Law (LLB)
- Master of Law (LLM)
