Key Responsibilities

* Drive the implementation of Natural Resource Management (NRM) activities, focusing on climate-resilient infrastructure, flood control measures, and reforestation, to promote environmentally sustainable practices and community participation. * Architect and support the design of climate-resilient infrastructure projects, including slope protection, drainage improvement, and environmentally sensitive structures, ensuring compliance with project standards and donor guidelines. * Lead the implementation of flood control and risk mitigation measures, such as drainage cleaning, water flow management, and erosion control, to reduce climate-related risks and enhance community resilience. * Manage reforestation, plantation, and nature-based solution activities, including site preparation, sapling plantation, and maintenance, to ensure healthy growth and survival of planted trees. * Foster community engagement and participation in NRM activities, promoting the use of locally available, eco-friendly materials and techniques to ensure sustainability and community ownership. * Coordinate with local authorities, humanitarian stakeholders, and community leaders to mobilize resources, expertise, and support for NRM initiatives. * Develop and deliver training and awareness sessions on environmental sustainability, climate change adaptation, waste management, and disaster risk reduction, targeting camp and host community members. * Facilitate community meetings, focus group discussions, and workshops, ensuring inclusive participation of women, youth, and vulnerable groups in all activities. * Monitor and evaluate project activities, providing accurate reporting and documentation, and contributing to the development of climate-resilient infrastructure planning and emergency response strategies. * Provide critical support during emergency situations, such as floods or other natural disasters, to ensure timely and effective response and recovery efforts. * Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, volunteers, and caretaking groups to support plantation protection and sustainable NRM practices.

Skills

Basic communication skills in English and BengaliStrong facilitation skillsProblem-solving and negotiation skillsGender sensitivityBasic proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and field data collection tools

Education

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Civil Engineering
  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Agriculture
  • Diploma in Engineering in Civil Engineering
  • Bachelor of Social Science (BSS)
  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering

Additional

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in community mobilization, community development, or environmental programs
  • Experience in facilitating training, awareness campaigns, and community engagement activities
  • Prior involvement in natural resource management, nature-based solution activities, disaster risk reduction
