Quality Control (QC) Executive

The Quality Control Executive is responsible for ensuring that all printed materials and packaging products meet the highest industry standards and client specifications. You will oversee the entire production lifecycle, from raw material inspection and pre-press checks to final finishing, to minimize waste and ensure 100% accuracy in color, dimensions, and structural integrity. Key ResponsibilitiesPre-Press & Incoming Inspection • Material Testing: Verify the quality of incoming substrates (Duplex board, Art card, SBS, etc.), checking for GSM, moisture content, brightness, and grain direction.• Ink & Chemicals: Ensure inks, varnishes, and adhesives meet safety and performance standards.• Plate Verification: Inspect CTP (Computer-to-Plate) outputs for sharpness, screen ruling, and registration marks before they reach the press. In-Process Quality Control (IPQC) • Color Management: Perform "first-sheet" approvals. Use densitometers or spectrophotometers to verify Delta-E values and ensure consistency with Pantone or approved physical proofs.• Registration Check: Monitor print registration throughout the run to prevent blurring or misalignment.• Print Defects: Identify and rectify common issues such as hickeys, scumming, ghosting, or picking during live runs. Post-Press & Packaging Integrity • Finishing Checks: Inspect lamination (bond strength), UV coating (curing/gloss levels), and foil stamping for adhesion and alignment.• Structural Testing: Oversee die-cutting accuracy, creasing/folding quality, and glue-line integrity to ensure boxes assemble correctly on automated packing lines.• Functional Tests: Conduct rub tests, bursting strength tests, and COF (Coefficient of Friction) analysis where required.
