Laboratory Technician

* Drive clinical laboratory activities in accordance with MSF protocols, ensuring adherence to security, hygiene, and safety measures to deliver accurate patient treatment results. * Lead the preparation and execution of clinical exams and tests, utilizing appropriate techniques and following established MSF protocols and procedures. * Conduct laboratory exams, including serology, haematology, biochemistry, bacteriology, and parasitology, with precision and accuracy. * Manage and maintain laboratory equipment, materials, and supplies, ensuring efficient organization, cleaning, and minor maintenance. * Implement and maintain hygiene and safety protocols, including daily cleaning, sterilization, and waste disposal, to uphold the highest safety standards. * Oversee inventory management, including ordering, stock management, and storage conditions, to ensure seamless laboratory operations. * Develop and maintain a robust data collection system, ensuring accurate and organized laboratory results and analysis data. * Foster a culture of transparency and accountability, reporting laboratory activities, equipment malfunctions, and stock discrepancies to the line manager. * Perform specialized testing, including viral load testing for Hepatitis C patients using the GeneXpert Machine and biochemistry testing, according to project needs. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including nurses and the Hep C medical team, to provide training, support, and expertise. * Ensure seamless handovers, maintain up-to-date registers and files, and actively participate in laboratory activity reporting. * Architect and implement contingency plans to mitigate stock ruptures, equipment damage, and other potential disruptions. * Prioritize patient confidentiality, adhering to established protocols and routines to safeguard sensitive information. * Work closely with the Hep C medical team to drive laboratory operations, provide expertise, and support patient care.
