Key Responsibilities
* Spearhead import operations by preparing and processing critical documents, including PI, invoices, and shipping records, to ensure seamless customs clearance.
* Architect and manage import-related commercial activities, including letter of credit opening, amendment, and settlement, while maintaining strong relationships with banks, C&F agents, and shipping lines.
* Drive timely delivery and clearance of goods by monitoring shipment status and coordinating with internal departments, such as procurement, accounts, and store.
* Ensure regulatory compliance by staying up-to-date with Bangladesh import regulations, customs rules, and company policies, and handling HS code classification, duty calculation, and cost estimation.
* Lead communication with banks to facilitate document negotiation and payment processing, and maintain meticulous documentation and record-keeping for audit purposes.
* Resolve import-related discrepancies and issues, providing expert support to internal stakeholders.
* Manage port-related accounts and documentation, including Proforma Disbursement Account (PDA) and Final Disbursement Account (FDA), to ensure accurate financial reporting.
* Oversee vessel operations, coordinating with port authorities, suppliers, stevedores, and ship masters to ensure efficient vessel handling and expense management.
* Monitor payments, receivables, and vendor settlements, ensuring proper record-keeping and reporting to maintain transparency and accountability.
* Implement robust internal controls, including Segregation of Duties (SoD), to prevent unauthorized site spending and ensure audit readiness.
* Act as a liaison for internal and external auditors, preparing necessary schedules and documentation to meet regulatory requirements and ensuring 100% compliance with VAT/AIT regulations.
* Conduct variance analysis to track actual construction expenditures against the Master Budget, providing actionable advice on cost control and process improvement.
* Drive the implementation of accounting software (ERP) to automate site-to-office reporting, improve data integrity, and enhance overall financial management.

Education
