Finance Officer

* Drive financial management excellence in the Bangladesh Country Office, ensuring seamless compliance with local regulations and Sightsavers' policies. * Architect and maintain precise financial records, leveraging the accounting system to ensure accurate transaction coding, documentation, and recording. * Manage cash flow with precision, processing payments, preparing fund requests, and ensuring timely month-end and year-end closures. * Oversee financial planning and analysis, supporting the development of country and project budgets, forecasts, and reforecasts in collaboration with the Finance and Support Services Manager. * Lead financial reporting and audit preparation, crafting financial statements and reports, and guiding partner organisations through audit processes as needed. * Ensure regulatory compliance, navigating tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements, including withholding tax, income tax returns, and NBR regulations. * Provide expert financial oversight and support to partner organisations, including budget preparation, fund balance monitoring, and variance analysis. * Conduct regular financial monitoring visits to partners, reviewing expenditure against approved budgets, addressing queries, and identifying areas for improvement. * Deliver timely and accurate financial reports for projects, consistently meeting deadlines and stakeholder expectations. * Empower partners to strengthen their financial management capabilities, providing guidance, hands-on support, and training to enhance controls, documentation, and record-keeping. * Collaborate with programme colleagues to identify partner training needs and contribute to building partners' financial management capacity. * Foster effective partnership management, ensuring compliance with partnership agreements, donor requirements, and government regulations.
