Key Responsibilities
* Drive the development and implementation of joint advocacy, communication, and visibility strategies across 15 disaster-prone districts and 33 Rohingya camps, ensuring a unified voice for the PROTISTHAA initiative.
* Lead stakeholder engagement efforts, fostering collaborative relationships with key partners, including local organizations, government agencies, and international stakeholders.
* Architect and execute a comprehensive communication plan, leveraging various channels to raise awareness about the project's objectives, progress, and impact.
* Manage the production of high-quality communication materials, including reports, briefs, and social media content, to effectively showcase the project's achievements and lessons learned.
* Collaborate with the Consortium MEAL Manager to ensure that monitoring, evaluation, and learning findings inform advocacy and communication efforts, promoting data-driven decision-making.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with local media outlets, securing media coverage and promoting the project's visibility in target areas.
* Design and implement capacity-building programs for local partners and stakeholders, enhancing their advocacy and communication skills to support project objectives.
* Facilitate knowledge sharing and coordination among consortium members, ensuring that advocacy and communication efforts are aligned and effective.
* Drive the development of policy briefs, position papers, and other advocacy materials, influencing policy and practice changes that support disaster risk reduction and management in Bangladesh.
* Ensure that all communication and advocacy efforts are sensitive to the needs and concerns of vulnerable populations, including women, children, and marginalized groups.
Requirements
Skills
Strong writing, editing, storytelling, and communication skills.Ability to translate technical topics (IBF, early actions, AA) into accessible language.Skills in photography, video documentation, or visual communication (preferred)
Education
- Master of Development Studies (MDS)
- Master of Social Science (MSS)
- Master’s degree in communications, Journalism, Development Studies, Public Policy, Disaster Management, or related field.
Additional
- 5 years of experience in communication, advocacy, humanitarian or development programming.
- Prior involvement in Anticipatory Action, DRR, climate communication, or early-warning systems.
- Experience working with disaster-prone communities or Rohingya response settings.
- Media relations and digital content development experience.
- Experience working with multi-agency or consortium projects.
- Demonstrated record of producing high-quality communication products and policy advocacy materials.
- Experience engaging in national government, local authorities, and humanitarian coordination bodies.
