Key Responsibilities
* Spearhead the development and implementation of robust internal control systems, ensuring alignment with organizational policies, donor requirements, and applicable laws to drive transparency and accountability.
* Architect and enforce compliance frameworks, conducting regular internal reviews to identify control weaknesses and devising corrective actions to mitigate risks.
* Drive audit and risk management initiatives, conducting internal audits, preparing for external audits, and ensuring timely follow-up on audit observations to guarantee seamless compliance.
* Identify and assess potential risks, collaborating with management to develop and implement effective mitigation strategies that safeguard the organization's interests.
* Oversee financial transactions, documentation, and reports, verifying accuracy, compliance, and adherence to financial procedures to ensure the integrity of financial operations.
* Lead spot checks and periodic reviews of project and operational activities, providing assurance that all aspects of the organization's operations are efficient, effective, and compliant.
* Manage and maintain comprehensive documentation of internal control processes, findings, and corrective actions, ensuring proper record-keeping and reporting that meets donor and organizational requirements.
* Develop and submit internal control and compliance reports to management, providing actionable insights and recommendations for process improvements.
* Champion process improvement initiatives, recommending enhancements to systems, processes, and internal controls that drive efficiency, compliance, and operational excellence across departments.
